Careers in the Common Good

Careers in the Common Good is designed to explore the idea of connecting a liberal education to a lifetime of socially responsible work. The non-profit, private and government sectors all present opportunities to connect personal social values with professional employment, but finding that work is often seen as a daunting challenge. We hope that Careers in the Common Good can provide strategies for finding work that has personal meaning and help build a community of people committed to reflective social change.

Careers in the Common Good connects liberal education with a lifetime of socially responsible work. Careers in the Common Good supports students and alumni as they seek work that connects personal values and professional problem solving in the non-profit, private and government sectors. This site was developed by the Swearer Center for Public Service at Brown University. It is now part of Office of Career Development.
